Run for the border with FX’s ‘The Bridge’

It’s TV you can’t look away from.

Literally.

“The Bridge” (10 p.m. Wednesday, FX) relies so heavily on a mix of English and Spanish that, unless you’re bilingual, you’ll need to always keep an eye on the screen just for the subtitles.

This demand for attention comes in handy, though, to help you keep up with the drama’s twisty plots involving corruption in El Paso, Texas, and across the border in Ciudad Juarez.

The first season was among 2013’s best series, thanks largely to the rarely seen plight of those living in the war zone that Juarez has become.

Having Diane Kruger and Demian Bichir, one of the finest actors on either side of the border, portray the drama’s key partnership didn’t hurt, either.
