Dining Pick of the Week: Bistro Pizza

Bistro Pizza

55 S. Gibson Road, 702-558-7330

Tucked away on Gibson Road just south of the 215 Beltway is the family-friendly Bistro Pizza. The cozy restaurant has an open kitchen and crayons at the center of each table, which explains the colorful drawings and cartoon characters adorning the walls. The dough for the hand-tossed pizzas is made from scratch, and the thin crust is baked crisp on stone deck ovens. Small 8-inch pizzas start at $7, medium 12-inch pizzas at $11 and large 16-inch pizzas at $15. Gluten-free, 8-inch pizza is an additional $2. Appetizers ($4 to $7) include mozzarella sticks, garlic cheese bread garnished with Parmesan shavings and chicken tenders and wings served hot, medium, mild, barbecue, teriyaki or sweet chili style. The Bistro and Ghost Pepper Fries ($4) feature fresh parsley, Parmesan, Pecorino Romano and, for heat, ghost pepper seasoning. Subs, lathered in melted cheese, are $7 and feature the Italian hoagie, chicken, and meatball Parmesan. Sliders (four for $5.95) are made inside garlic knots and feature chicken Parmesan or meatball, or barbecue pulled pork (four for $6.50). Subs and sliders are served with house-seasoned fries. Big portions are embraced in everything from the calzones and stromboli to dinner dishes such as homemade lasagna, Tuscan chicken and chicken Parmesan. Plain pasta with sauce starts at $4 and goes up to baked penne for $10. Bistro Pizza is closed Tuesday and open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday through Monday.
