Novecento Pizzeria is a little slice of Italy tucked in Henderson. From the imported ingredients to the cooking techniques, owner/chef Marc Sgrizzi models his restaurant after authentic pizzerias in Naples, Italy. Each pizza is pressed and shaped by hand, topped with ingredients and loaded into a stone oven at 900 degrees. Hence the name “Novecento.” Within 90 seconds, the pizzas are cooked to a golden-brown perfection. Customers can customize 7- and 10-inch pizzas by selecting the dough, sauce, cheese and toppings. The restaurant also offers specialty pizzas, such as Bianco (pesto sauce, mozzarella, Gorgonzola, onion, arugula and truffle dressing) or Margherita (marinara, mozzarella, basil, grated cheese and olive oil). Calzones, strombolis, soups and salads cost less than $10. Dessert includes gelato, canolli and a dessert pizza (sweetened ricotta, vanilla and macerated strawberries or peaches). Novecento Pizzeria is open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday. The restaurant might close early depending on dough availability.
