Dining Pick of the Week: The Salted Lime

The Salted Lime

The Aliante, 7300 Aliante Parkway, 702-692-7777

Situated around a margarita bar and offering a variety of tasty Mexican dishes, The Salted Lime inside the Aliante serves up delicious South of the Border food with excellent alcoholic pairings. Open only in the afternoon and nighttime, The Salted Lime serves a dinner menu with diverse items, including carne asada and New York steak. The food quality is excellent as meals are freshly prepared daily. As soon as patrons are seated, they are brought fresh chips and dips, including delicious salsas and beans. Menu items such as carne asada and camarones a la diabla have authentic Mexican flavor and are served hot and in large portions. While the food and the drinks resemble Mexican style, the eatery’s ambience has a more modern twist. With darker tones to the decor, The Salted Lime gives off a “Vegas” vibe that nonetheless works with the style of food and the rest of the decor throughout the Aliante. Dinner options include shrimp cocktail (shrimp in a tomato cocktail sauce with avocado, onions and cilantro) for $8 or pollo con mole (a Mexican tradition of homemade mole sauce over chicken breast) for $14. A little more expensive, yet still reasonably priced items, include deliciously prepared carne asada (marinated and grilled steak, cooked to perfection and topped with sauteed onions and served with corn tortillas) for $19 or traditional camarones a la diabla (large, plump shrimp, seasoned and sauteed in a spicy blend of chilies) for $17. The Salted Lime is open from 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 4 to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Bar hours are from 3 to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 3 p.m. to midnight Friday and Saturday.
