China Poblano at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas is celebrating the Day of the Dead with a dinner dedicated to Tin-Tan, a Mexican actor, singer and comedian who led the zoot-suit-centric Pachuco Movement in the ’50s. The 48th annual World’s Championship Chili Cookoff is Friday through Sunday, with about 400 cooks competing in four categories and the winner of the traditional red chili category taking home a $25,000 prize. The action can be viewed at the Tyson Fan Zone &Marketplace at Mandalay Bay. Each cook will prepare 2 gallons of People’s Choice Chili for public tasting. Admission is free. …
