Little Tony’s is big on pizza at Palace Station

Little Tony’s, from 11-time world pizza champion (and Pizza Rock purveyor) Tony Gemignani, opened last month. As might be expected, it serves Gemignani’s signature pizza styles, prepared in gas and electric brick ovens: classic American, New York, classic Italian, Chicago cast-iron, and cracker-thin and gluten-free.

A specialty is The Dillinger, shown above, which was named World’s Best Pizza in 2014. It’s made with smoked vodka cream sauce, marinated chicken breast, bacon, bell peppers, mozzarella, provolone, cheddar, artichoke hearts, broccolini, garlic, fresh lemon, crushed red peppers and parsley, and only 10 are made each day.

Little Tony’s also serves baked pastas, design-your-own pastas and other Italian dishes. Every guest receives a complimentary cup of “pasta fazool,” or pasta e fagioli. Here’s a sample of the menu:

Antipasti: Meatballs, $3 for five or $6 for eight; garlic bread with cheese, $7; fries (garlic and rosemary, truffle, Gorgonzola or honey, pancetta and Parmigiano), $8; Whiskey Wings, $10; spinach and artichoke crostini, $12.

Pizza: Classic Italian Margherita, $8 for 9-inch, $15 for 16-inch; classic American cheese, $8/$15; New York-style tomato pie with cheese, $9/$17; The Dillinger, $35; Michigan Ave. (tomato sauce, three cheeses, pepperoni), $25 for 13-inch cast-iron, $22 for cracker-thin 15-inch; gluten-free 12-inch vegetarian, $18.

Pastas: Chicken Alfredo, $16; salsiccia, $13; lasagna, $15; Dirty Steak, $38; custom-made, $9 for single or $20 for family style, plus $2.50-$5/$6-$12 for additional options.
