When five-time Ultimate Fighting Championship champion Randy Couture asks you for money, you should seriously consider giving him some.

Couture is hosting a concert headlined by country music stars Gary Allan and Darryl Worley to benefit his Xtreme G.I. Foundation.

The Under the Stars and Stripes concert is scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday in the amphitheater at Sunset Station, 1301 W. Sunset Road in Henderson.

Tickets start at $39, plus taxes and fees, and all proceeds will benefit wounded veterans and their families through Couture’s foundation.

Spoonful of sugar

Next month, Green Valley High School’s production of “Mary Poppins” competes in the Educational Theater Association’s annual Thespian Festival in Lincoln, Neb., one of 10 shows invited to participate. Thursday night, however, locals have the chance to cheer the magical nanny and company before they depart for Nebraska. It’s the first high school production to play The Smith Center’s Reynolds Hall. Thrash night

“Surf Nicaragua” with thrashers Sacred Reich, one of the most underrated acts of the ’80s metal scene. Despite hailing from neighboring Arizona, this will be the band’s first ever gig in Las Vegas after 27 years together, at 7 p.m. Friday at The Cheyenne Saloon, 3103 N. Rancho Drive.
