Axl Rose to attend Guns N’ Roses show at T-Mobile Arena with broken foot

Fans attending the eagerly anticipated Guns N’ Roses show at T-Mobile Arena tonight, can expect to see a slightly more sedated version of singer Axl Rose than appeared last week at the band’s secret show at the Troubadour in Los Angeles.

Apparently the frontman injured himself at the gig or thereafter, and as a result, he underwent surgery sometime this week to repair to his left foot. “This is what can happen when you do something you haven’t done in nearly over 23 years,”Internal Fixation,” the singer tweeted earlier today, along with sharing a video featuring x-rays of the injury.

“Axl sustained a fracture of the fifth metatarsal, which is one of the bones in his foot,” explains orthopedic surgeon Dr. Rachel Trish in a video the singer shared in his Twitter feed. “So Axl underwent what we call an open reduction, internal fixation, where we go in an put the bone pieces back together and realign them. And we placed plates and screws in order to hold them in place while it’s healing. So right now he’s in a cast, and we’re limiting how much weight he’s putting on it. So he’s having his set designed for the stage, so he can perform for everyone still.”

Indeed, “This changes nothing,” the band’s publicist confirms. “The shows will go on!”
