The Dead come back to life, announce Las Vegas show

Just when it seemed like we may never have a chance to pay our final respects to one of the all-time great rock bands of our time, The Dead have miraculously come back to life — and they're coming to Las Vegas!

As you're undoubtedly aware of by now, after their historic run of farewell shows in Santa Clara and Chicago this past summer, the remaining members of the Grateful Dead enjoyed playing again so much that they drafted John Mayer to sit in on guitar and hit the road as Dead & Company.

The revitalized act is bringing the show to Las Vegas for a pair of dates at the MGM Grand Arena just after Thanksgiving on Nov. 27 and Nov. 28. Tickets for the show range from $50 (in honor of the outfit's 50th anniversary) to under $100 and go on sale next Friday.

If you're an American Express cardholder, you can get the jump on everybody else with a special pre-sale on Wednesday, Sept. 16 at 10 a.m. For everyone else, tickets are on sale next Friday at 10 a.m.
