The Family Band set to tear roof off of Brooklyn Bowl

The song begins with a slide down the pedal steel guitar strings, a whistle blows, a bass line unfurls the funk — it’s the musical equivalent of confetti bursting into the air.

“We’re about to start a party in here!” singer-guitarist Robert Randolph announces on “Amped Up” from Robert Randolph and The Family Band’s latest record, “Lickety Split.”

So, Mr. Randolph, at what volume would you prefer your amplification system to be turned to?

“Up to 11 y’all!”

OK, OK, now what about the structural integrity of the venue in which you plan to do your thing?

“We’re ’bout to tear the roof off of here!”

Hmmm, sounds like a concern for the building inspector — but not us, and definitely not Randolph, whose exultant blues-meets-gospel sermonizing chases away the bad vibes like Mom kicking the kids out of the house on a Saturday morning.

A can’t-miss live act, Randolph and Co. will be pulling double duty this weekend, playing at night as well as performing at brunch, which should make sweating out that hangover easy work.
