Inspirada builders help pave way for traffic safety

Inspirada builders — Beazer Homes, KB Home, Pardee Homes and Toll Brothers — have contributed $2.25 million to improve traffic safety for drivers, bicyclists and pedestrians in the rapidly growing Henderson master-planned community.

Representatives of the Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada, the City of Henderson and Inspirada recently celebrated the start of a 15-month, $16.7 million Volunteer Boulevard road-widening project that will include new traffic lanes as well as separate bike lanes.

"Thank you for paving the way to our future," said Jeremy McClain, Inspirada community manager. "On behalf of Inspirada's 2,500 residents and Inspirada builders, we're looking forward to a bigger and better Volunteer Boulevard, which is a major transportation route for our community's current and future residents."

Henderson City Councilwoman Debra March said the project not only will improve access to Inspirada and the neighboring Sun City Anthem community, it will also improve safety by separating the street from bicyclists and adding lighting that will improve night visibility.

Henderson recently was named a Bicycle Friendly Community at the Silver Award level by the League of American Bicyclists — the first city in Nevada to receive this recognition. Henderson's parks system also has been recognized as best in the nation, earning a Gold Medal Award from the National Recreation and Park Association.

Inspirada was the site of Henderson's annual Stroll 'n Roll event that drew thousands of cyclists, walkers and strollers at Inspirada's Aventura, Potenza and Capriola parks, part of the new development in Inspirada.

They join Solista Park, which includes two heated resident pools and an amphitheater located by the Resident Community Center.

Potenza Park features interactive musical elements, in addition to lighted multi-use courts, two residents-only heated swimming pools, picnic ramadas, playground, shade structures, a skate area, open turf and restrooms over more than five acres.

Capriola Park fills almost 13 acres with two lighted multi-use fields, three lighted tennis and two basketball courts, picnic ramada, playground, splash pad, shade structures, open turf and dog park.

Aventura Park's 20 acres includes two ball fields, three multi-use playfields, double basketball courts, four volleyball courts, dog park, splash pad and two heated pools for residents.

Surrounding the parks are 24 model homes in 12 new Inspirada neighborhoods featuring one-, two- and three-story single-family homes. For more information, visit www.inspirada.com or follow the community on Facebook at www.facebook.com/InspiradaNV.
