1 killed in shooting near UNLV
One person died after a shooting Monday afternoon near UNLV, according to Las Vegas police.
Officers responded about 2:15 p.m. to reports of shots fired and a person on the ground in the 600 block of Royal Crest Circle, near Swenson Street and East Twain Avenue. They found a male suffering apparent gunshot wounds, according to Metro spokesman Officer Laura Meltzer.
He was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center where he died, Meltzer said. His age was not available, she said.
The shooter left the scene before officers arrived, Meltzer said. Homicide detectives are en route.
The male will be identified by the Clark County coroner’s office after his family has been notified.
