2 bodies found near Jones and US-95; police investigating

Las Vegas police are investigating the circumstances behind two bodies found Wednesday afternoon.

Police found the bodies of a man and a woman, described by police as elderly, in the 6200 block of Elton Avenue, near Jones Boulevard and U.S. Highway 95, about 1:30 p.m., Metro spokesman Larry Hadfield said.

Homicide detectives’ initial investigation indicated it might be a murder-suicide, police said.

Police later said the woman used a handgun to shoot the man, described as her husband, and then herself

The couple’s identities will be released by the Clark County coroner’s office after their families have been notified.

This is the 57th homicide investigated by Metro in 2015.
