Four people were wounded when an attempted robbery at a car wash turned into a shootout in the southwest valley Sunday afternoon, Las Vegas police said.
They were all expected to survive, Metro Lt. Bruce Miyama said.
Medical crews and police were called about 3:30 p.m. to the Terrible Herbst car wash in the 4000 block of Arville Street, near the intersection with Flamingo Road, Clark County Fire Department logs show.
Two people were getting a vehicle detailed by an employee at the car wash, Miyama said. When they realized they were being robbed, one of the occupants of the vehicle pulled out a gun and shots were exchanged between both groups.
The vehicle’s occupants, a car wash employee and one of the robbers were struck by gunfire, Miyama said. All four were being treated at University Medical Center where the extent of their injuries wasn’t immediately available.
One of the robbers, only described as a male, fled the scene, Miyama said.
