An 8-year-old girl was in critical condition Friday night after she was hit by a truck in a crosswalk in North Las Vegas.

Police responded at 8:53 p.m. to the crash at Commerce Street and Kraft Avenue, near Lone Mountain Road, and found the girl suffering from life-threatening injuries.

The girl was crossing Commerce with her uncle, 43, when she was struck by a northbound gray Ford truck. The girl was taken to University Medical Center. The uncle was not injured.

The 47-year-old driver of the truck stayed at the scene and was not injured. Police do not believe alcohol was a factor.
