Bicyclist hurt in crash on the Strip pronounced dead

A bicyclist who was critically injured in a crash last week on the Strip has died, according to Las Vegas police.

Matthew Hunt, 37, of Las Vegas, was hospitalized after a crash about 8 a.m. August 3 in the 3300 block of Las Vegas Boulevard South, near Spring Mountain Road, Metro said.

Two bicyclists were on the road when a 1998 Ford Mustang driven by a 23-year-old Las Vegas woman struck Hunt, Metro said. The woman stayed at the scene and cooperated with police, who have not said if she was cited.

Police were notified of Hunt's death Tuesday by the coroner's office. His death was ruled an accident, police said.

Hunt's death is the 63rd traffic-related fatality in Metro's jurisdiction this year.
