Brothers injured in late night shooting

One man was shot in the face and a second was shot in the leg late Saturday night in front of a Las Vegas apartment complex.

Police responded at 11:51 to the complex in the 1900 block of Simmons Street, near Vegas Drive, where a man was reportedly lying on the ground and bleeding from the head, according to Metro spokesman Lt. John Liberty.

Officers found the man with a gunshot wound to the face and the man’s brother had a gunshot wound to the leg.

Both men were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening wounds, Liberty said.

Police had no information on the shooter and did not have a suspect Sunday morning.

“There was little cooperation from the victims,” Liberty said.

Metro’s gang unit is investigating the shooting.
