Clark County coroner IDs motorcyclist killed in Saturday crash

The 72-year-old motorcycle driver who died in a west valley crash Saturday has been identified by the Clark County coroner’s office.

Roger Glenn McClellan of Las Vegas was traveling north on Buffalo Drive near Charleston Boulevard just after noon when a 2007 Ford Explorer ran a red light and hit him, witnesses told police.

McClellan, who was ejected from his Harley Davidson, came to rest in the westbound lanes of Charleston, police said.

He was taken to University Medical Center, where he died of his injuries.

Legislators mourned McClellan’s passing as he was a health care policy specialist for the state legislative counsel bureau.

Police said the driver of the Ford, Joanne Kloza, 29, failed a field sobriety test and was booked into the Clark County Detention Center on a charge of DUI resulting in death.

This is the 50th traffic-related fatality in Metro’s jurisdiction for 2016.
