Construction site death blamed on a fall

The man whose his body was found at an east Las Vegas Valley construction site earlier this month died from a fall, the Clark County coroner's office said Wednesday.

His death is being probed by Nevada Occupational Safety and Health Administration investigators.

Las Vegas resident Porfirio Gonzalez-Huerta, 49, was found dead at the site, 4131 E. Bonanza Road, near the intersection of Sandhill Road, about 11 a.m. Aug. 3. That is the address of the Equipo Academy charter school, which is scheduled to open later this month, according to its website.

OSHA spokeswoman Teri Williams said details on the investigation might not be available for months.
