Coroner identifies woman killed in nine-vehicle crash

The woman who was killed in a nine-vehicle crash Friday in the northwest valley was identified Sunday by the Clark County coroner’s office.

Ellen Finnie Gallucci, 65 of Las Vegas, died when her vehicle rolled over after a man driving a 2012 Dodge Challenger ran a red light on Cheyenne Avenue, at Jones Boulevard, crashing into a car in the intersection and causing a chain reaction, according to Las Vegas police.

Galluci was pronounced dead at the scene.

Three others were seriously injured in the crash, including the driver and passenger of the Challenger, 32-year-old Kenneth Rankin and 48-year-old James Bennett, police said.

The driver of the first car that was hit in the wreck, 88-year-old George Powell, of Las Vegas, was traveling through the intersection on a green light. Powell also suffered serious injuries, police said.

Four people were taken to hospitals in the area with minor injuries. Five children, ranging 2 to 16 years old, were involved but uninjured in the crash.

Rankin was booked in absentia at Clark County Detention Center and faces multiple charges of possession and sale, according to detention center logs.
