District Attorney’s office offering free child support case help

Family support staff from the Clark County district attorney’s office will offer free child support case help for noncustodial parents from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Child Support Center of Southern Nevada, 1900 E. Flamingo Road.

Noncustodial parents who have had their driver’s license suspended or are under a bench warrant because they are behind in child support payments can visit the office and meet with a case manager without fear of being arrested, the district attorney’s office said in a statement.

The district attorney’s office said those parents can pay half of their bail or suspension amounts to reinstate their licenses and get rid of their bench warrants.

“We understand that people fall on hard times and get into situations where they see no way to get out,” Clark County District Attorney Steve Wolfson said in the statement, “but we want them to know there are options and we are willing to work with them to get the best results for their children.”
