Dining Pick of the Week: Vegas Pizza & Deli

A deli –– no matter what kind it is –– is at the heart of everything we love about food. And when the deli serves pizza, the love is even greater. Several specialty pies are BBQ Chicken, Hawaiian, Greek, Vegetarian and Supreme with pepperoni, ham, mushroom, onions, green peppers and black olives. There are calzones with steak and cheese, and the Italian with ham, capi-salami, mortadella and provolone. Two pasta dishes are lasagna and spaghetti with meatballs. Among the sandwiches, with choice of coleslaw, potato salad or macaroni salad, are Super Pastrami on rye, Reuben, Philly cheese on sub roll, BLT on toasted white, meatball, chicken Parmesan, turkey with Swiss and Russian dressing, and Super Roast Beef with provolone, lettuce, tomatoes and red onion on a sub roll. Two popular salads are Caesar and Greek (tomatoes, cucumber, beets, Kalamata olives, red onion, feta, peperoncinis, pita). There are wings and chicken tenders with choice of sauce: BBQ, Ranch, Hot or Teriyaki. Desserts include cannoli, New York cheesecake and carrot cake. Lunch specials ($6.99) are served from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Specialty pizzas begin at $14.99.
