Las Vegas Mayor's cup International: The public is invited to watch more than 400 youth soccer teams from 13 U.S. states, Canada, Haiti, Mexico and Chile compete in the 16th annual Las Vegas Mayor's Cup International Soccer Tournament Oct. 23-25. The platinum-ranked tournament will be based at the Bettye Wilson Soccer Complex, with games at many fields throughout the city: Bettye Wilson Soccer Complex, 7353 Eugene Ave. (tournament headquarters); Kellogg Zaher Sports Complex, 7901 W. Washington Ave.; Centennial Hills Park, 7101 N. Buffalo Drive; Ed Fountain Park, 1400 N. Decatur Blvd.; Freedom Park, 850 N. Mojave Road; Las Vegas Sports Park, 1400 N. Rampart Blvd.; Mike Morgan Family Park, 3951 E. Bonanza Road; Rafael Rivera Park, 2998 Stewart Ave.; and Teton Trails, 7850 N. Bradley Road. Teams of boys and girls ages 9 to 15 will compete between 6 and 9 p.m. on Oct. 23; between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. on Oct. 24; and between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Oct. 25. Friday games will include primarily local teams playing at Bettye Wilson Soccer Complex. Admission to games is free all weekend. Trick or Treat & PhotoBOOth Event: The event is planned from 10 a.m to 2 p.m. Oct. 24 at these PetSmart locations: 2140 N. Rainbow Blvd.; 1261 S.Decatur Blvd.; 171 N. Nellis Blvd.; and 9775 W. Charleston Blvd. Pets and families are invited for Halloween festivities by dressing their pets up for a photo booth and props. Pets can get treats provided by BLUE Buffalo and Natural Balance as well as discount offers for grooming, training and boarding services during trick-or-treating. Three Square Thank-You Gift: Nevada Public Radio, with support from the Bennett Family Foundation and AARP Nevada, is offering listeners an opportunity to help feed food insecure individuals in Southern Nevada. Day of Change: Ronald McDonald House Charities celebrated its annual Day of Change and its 40-year anniversary on Oct. 15. The RMHC Day of Change is the charity's annual call to action to support families with children facing medical crises. In Las Vegas, RMHC and McDonald owner/operators invited individuals, businesses and community groups to support local families with critically-ill children by visiting participating McDonald's and dropping spare change into a RMHC Donation Box. Drive for the Kids raises $1,170 for elementary school: On Sept. 18, Sahara Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram helped raise $1,170 for Red Rock Elementary, 408 Upland Blvd., through its Drive for the Kids fundraising event. The fundraiser was held during the school's anniversary celebration, and for $10, allowed participants to take a brief test drive in a 2015 model Town & Country, Chrysler 200 or Chrysler 300. Since its inception in 1993, the Chrysler brand's Drive for the Kids program has contributed more than $6 million directly to local schools. Visit drive4kids.com.
