Summer heats up for pool season in East Valley View-area

Summer swimming season is slated to arrive soon at pools all over Clark County. City of Las Vegas pools slated to open weekends starting May 24 include the Carlos L. Martinez and Darrio J. Hall Family Pool at Gary Reese Freedom Park, 889 N. Pecos Road, 702-229-1755, which is set to be open noon to 5 p.m. Saturdays, Sundays and Memorial Day; and the Doolittle Pool, 1950 J St., 702-229-6398, which is scheduled to be open 2 to 6 p.m. Saturdays. Admission is $1 to $2. Many area pools are scheduled to open for the full summer season June 7.

CITY OF LAS VEGAS

Baker Pool, 1100 E St. Louis Ave, 702-229-1532. Opens for season on June 9. Admission is $1-$2 a day. The pool is scheduled to be open Mondays-Saturdays 4 to 8 p.m.
Carlos L. Martinez and Darrio J. Hall Family Pool at Gary Reese Freedom Park, 889 N. Pecos Road, 702-229-1755. The pool is scheduled to be open weekends for the preseason May 24-26, May 31 and June 1, June 7 and 8 noon-5 p.m. Opens for season on June 9, $1-$2 a day. Open Monday-Friday noon-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday noon-5 p.m.
Doolittle Pool, 1950 J St., 702-229-6398. Open pre-season on May 24, May 31 and June 7 2-6 p.m. Opens for season on June 9. $1-$2 a day. Open Monday-Saturday 2-6 p.m. The pool is closed Sunday.
Municipal Pool, 431 E Bonanza Road, 702-229-6309. Open year round. $1-$2 a day. Open Monday-Friday 8-4 p.m., 7-9 p.m.
Saturday and Sunday noon-6 p.m. The pool will be closed to the public for a swim meet Memorial Day weekend.

NORTH LAS VEGAS POOLS

Whitney Pool, 5700 E. Missouri St., 702-455-8529. Opens for season on June 7. $1-$2 a day. Open Monday-Friday 2-6 p.m.
The pool is closed Friday through Sunday.
Cora Coleman Senior Pool, 2100 Bonnie Lane, 702-455-2120. Open year round. $3-$4 a day. Open Monday-Thursday 7:15 a.m. to 5 p.m. The pool is closed Saturday and Sunday. The pool is only open to Adults 21 or older.

Water parks have slides, spray features, water playgrounds and pool decks.

Open Monday and Wednesday 6 a.m.-8 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday 6 a.m.–10 a.m., 2 p.m.–8 p.m. Saturday noon-4 p.m.
