The Metropolitan Police Department identified the driver involved in a hit and run that injured two women and three children on Saturday evening.
Fifty-year-old Diego Morales-Aquino was booked on Saturday on five felony counts of failure to stop at the scene of a crash causing death or injury, and one misdemeanor count of failure to stop at the scene of a crash causing property damage.
Police said Morales-Aquino’s 2000 Honda Accord hit two women and three children after it ran a red light, hit another vehicle and slid onto the sidewalk. Two of the children were listed in critical condition as of 1:35 a.m. Sunday.
Police arrested Morales-Aquino at a nearby apartment complex after finding his car’s bumper and license plate at the scene.
