Driver in fatal Rio hit-and-run sought

Las Vegas police are still looking for the driver who hit two pedestrians near the Las Vegas Strip Friday night and released a photo of the type of that was involved on Monday.

Police believe the vehicle in the hit-and-run is an early 2000s black four-door Nissan Sentra with stock wheels and tinted windows. The Nissan should be damaged on the front and front left.

Terry Westbrook, 71, and Charlotte Westbrook, 74, were crossing the street outside of a marked crosswalk by the Rio, on South Valley View Boulevard north of West Flamingo Road, when they were struck by a vehicle just after 10 p.m., Las Vegas police said.

The Westbrooks, residents of Kennesaw, Georgia, died on the scene from multiple blunt-force trauma injuries.

Police believe the Nissan was traveling south on Valley View when it struck the Westbrooks, who were crossing Valley View from east to west.

The driver of the sedan fled west on Flamingo Road without stopping, police said in a release early Saturday morning.
