Freeze warning set for Southern Nevada tonight, early Tuesday

If you find yourself saying you're freezing, there will soon be scientific data to support that notion.

The National Weather Service has issued a "freeze warning" from 10 p.m. tonight until 9 a.m. Tuesday. Weather is expected to dip to between 23 degrees and 30 degrees throughout the valley, with the cooler temperatures being reached in the outlying areas of Southern Nevada.

Meteorologist Clay Morgan of the Las Vegas office said people need to be aware of the incoming chill in order to protect their "plumbing, pool equipment and pets."

Although temperatures are expected to drop below freezing, Morgan said it's not unusual for it to be chilly this time of year. Low-temperature records are not expected to be reached Tuesday, he said..
