Las Vegas morning update for Sunday, October 8th — VIDEO

Here are your Sunday morning headlines:

1. The family of a man killed in the mass shooting Sunday wants to freeze gumman Stephen Paddock’s assets. The Henderon attorney has asked for the appointment of the Clark Couty public administrator to take control of Paddock’s assets, including his $369,000 Mesquite home. The action is necessary to preserve the assets so that lawsuits can be filed by families against Paddock over the “loss, distress and injuries” suffered by the victims.

2. The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority will consider spending $80 million over 20 years on the naming rights for a new Triple A baseball stadium in Summerlin. The Las Vegas Ballpark site would be adjacent to Downtown Summerlin, near the new NHL Golden Knights practice facility. The Las Vegas 51s would play there beginning in 2019.

3. First responders to the shooting on the Strip Sunday night received free tickets to UCF 216 Saturday night. The event included a celebration of the city and in particular, the heroes and victims of the tragedy. According to UFC officials, the 100-level tickets were distributed to the local law enforcement agencies, and they also received food and beverage vouchers courtesy of the arena. T-shirts were on their seats upon arrival.
