Las Vegas motorcyclist dies after crash on I-15 access road

A motorcyclist was killed after a crash Monday afternoon on an Interstate 15 access road, the Nevada Highway Patrol said.

The Highway Patrol said a motorcycle hit a crash cushion, launching its 27-year-old rider, Fernando Ramos of Las Vegas, into a concrete barrier wall. He was riding the black Kawasaki about 3:45 p.m. in the northbound lanes on the access road south of the Russell Road off-ramp before the crash, trooper Chelsea Stuenkel said.

Ramos braked, but hit the crash cushion at the off-ramp; he died at the scene.

His death marks the 50th traffic fatality investigated by the Highway Patrol this year.
