Man killed in crash near Convention Center identified
The 58-year-old man who died after the car he was in crashed into a pillar near the Las Vegas Convention Center earlier this month has been identified by the Clark County coroner's office.
He is Marcus Alonzo Hayes, of Las Vegas, staff said Tuesday.
The crash happened about 10 p.m. on Sept. 11 near the intersection of Paradise Road and Convention Center Drive.
The driver of the 2011 Lincoln Navigator Hayes was traveling in, 21-year-old Randy Flores, and a 21-year-old woman, were all taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center. Hayes later died there.
Flores and the woman who had been sitting in the front passenger seat suffered serious injuries.
The woman told police Flores was involved in a "'road-rage' type incident moments before the collision."
