Man killed in northeast valley crash Saturday ID’d

A man killed in what Metro deemed to be a DUI crash in the northeast valley Saturday morning has been identified by the Clark County coroner's office.

Khalil Ali Tiner, 26, of Las Vegas, died at the scene, police said.

Metro alleges that Luis Lopez, 19, was driving a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado when he ran through a "solid" red light, hitting two vehicles, police said. One of the vehicles that was struck, a 2006 Ford Mustang, was driven by Tiner.

Debris from the crash hit a fourth vehicle. The passenger riding in Tiner's Mustang suffered serious injuries, police said.

First responders were called just before 8:30 a.m. to the intersection of East Lake Mead Boulevard and Mt. Hood Street, near North Hollywood Boulevard.

Lopez, who police said showed "signs of alcohol impairment," was taken to jail after being being treated. Another driver suffered minor injuries.
