Man killed in west valley hit-and-run

A man was hit by vehicle and killed after an argument Thursday night in the west valley.

Christopher Sacca, 40, was booked into the Clark County Detention Center on felony DUI and hit-and-run charges in connection with the death of the 27-year-old man.

Officers responded to 9100 block of Quiet Cove Way, a residential neighborhood near Desert Inn and Fort Apache roads, about 5 p.m.

Witnesses told police the men were yelling at each other, and Sacca got into a Ford Excursion and started driving away.

The man chased after the truck and tried to grab onto the driver's side of the truck. He couldn't hold on and fell onto the road and was struck by the Ford, police said.

Sacca left the scene and was picked up at his home, police said.

If convicted on a hit-and-run charge, Sacca will face between two and 20 years in prison due to a change in Nevada law that went into effect Oct. 1.

The man who died will be identified by the Clark County coroner's office after his family has been notified.

This is the 87th traffic-related death in Metro's jurisdiction this year. The collision remains under investigation by Metro's Accident Investigations Section.
