Man shot in leg by motel security guard

One man was hospitalized with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound Thursday morning after he was shot by a motel security guard, according to Las Vegas police.

Las Vegas police responded about 6 a.m. to Holiday Motel at 2205 Las Vegas Boulevard South where a security guard had been in an altercation with a man, police said. The person tried to take the security guard’s Taser and the guard shot him in the right leg, said Metro spokesman Lt. Sean Toman.

The man was taken to University Medical Center for treatment, Toman said.
