Man threatening to jump from Caesars Palace parking structure taken into custody

A man threatening to jump off a parking structure at Caesars Palace tied up traffic on Frank Sinatra Drive for several hours, according to Las Vegas police.

He was eventually taken into custody, Metro Lt. Michael Mauntel said Tuesday night. Additional details were not immediately available.

Officers were called about 3 p.m. to the property, 3570 Las Vegas Blvd. S., Metro spokesman officer Larry Hadfield said. It wasn't clear what time he was taken into custody, but the Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada sent out a traffic alert at about 5:10 p.m.

Frank Sinatra was blocked off to vehicle and pedestrian traffic, police said.

Police negotiated with the man, and property staff assisted, Hadfield said. A SWAT vehicle was at the scene.
