Metro officer facing solicitation charges

A Metro officer was arrested in October and is facing charges in connection to a prostitution case, Las Vegas police said Tuesday.

The police department in August received information alleging that Bryce Jones, 36, has been involved in soliciting prostitution. An investigation led to his arrest on Oct. 11, Metro said in a news release issued almost two months after the fact.

Jones was booked on two misdemeanor charges, one for soliciting a prostitute and one for "loitering for the purpose of prostitution."

The officer, who has been with Metro since 2004, was placed on paid administrative leave while the case is investigated. He's assigned to the police department's Tourist Safety Division, Downtown Area Command.

Metro will not be releasing more information on the case, the release said. It wasn't immediately clear why Jones' arrest was announced more than seven weeeks after it happened.
