Motorcyclist critical after crashing into car in central Las Vegas

A motorcyclist is in critical condition after crashing Saturday afternoon into a parked car in the central valley, Las Vegas police said.

Metropolitan Police Department officers responded about 4 p.m. on reports of the crash on Greene Lane and south of Century Garden Drive, near Tropicana Avenue and Maryland Parkway, police said.

Officers said a 29-year-old man riding a 2007 Kawasaki motorcycle crashed into a parked, unoccupied Mitsubishi sedan. He was heading north through a parking area in the private property complex when he lost control of the motorcycle. Police said he hit the pavement and then hit the right side of the car.

He was hospitalized at Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center in critical condition, police said.

Metro said he wasn’t wearing a helmet, which contributed to his injuries. Police continue to investigate.
