NLV police kindly ask that you don’t shoot your gun into the air on NYE

North Las Vegas residents who choose to show their enthusiasm for the new year with “celebratory gunfire” risk having police officers crash their party.

In response to the high volume of holiday gunfire in years past, North Las Vegas police will “significantly increase enforcement of state and local gun and shooting laws,” New Year’s Eve, according to a city release.

Several laws and municipal codes prohibit people from discharging a firearm within city limits, the release said.

Police are asking party-goers not to permit firearms and shooting at celebrations. Witnesses to anyone firing a weapon in city limits are asked to call 911.
