A teen was wounded in a northwest valley shooting Friday evening, Las Vegas police said.
The call came from the 2300 block of Cardiff Lane, near West Smoke Ranch Road and North Jones Boulevard, just before 7 p.m., Lt. Yaz Yatomi said.
The girl, 17, was shot in the left knee as she was walking up steps. She was taken to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries, Yatomi said.
Police were still working late Friday to get a clear idea of what led to the shooting, Yatomi said.
Metro’s gang unit was on the scene.
