Park rangers pull body from Lake Mead

National Park Rangers recovered a body at Lake Mead’s Castle Reef shortly before 10 a.m. Thursday.

It is presumed to be that of a 45-year-old Henderson man who went missing on May 10, according to the park service.

The missing man and two others were swimming without life jackets when they began to drift away, park service spokesperson Christie Vanover said. Two of them made it out of the water safely, but the third man couldn’t be found.

Nevada Department of Wildlife and volunteers from Earth Resource Group assisted the park service in the search.

The man’s identity and cause of death have not been released.
