Pedestrian killed in hit-and-run crash in Las Vegas

A pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run early Saturday morning, police said.

Just after midnight, a man, identified only as a 65-year-old, was crossing East Bonanza Road east of North 30th Street when a westbound vehicle struck him, Metro said in a news release.

Police said the man, who was not in a marked crosswalk, died at the scene.

The driver of the vehicle did not remain on the scene. Police described the vehicle as an orange Chevrolet Camaro or Acura.

This was the 21st traffic-related death of 2016 in Metro’s jurisdiction, the release said.
