Pedestrian killed on I-15 was from Switzerland, coroner says

The man who was struck and killed on Interstate 15 earlier this week has been identified as a resident of Switzerland.

He is Florent Rudaz, 22, of the Swiss town of Vex, the Clark County coroner’s office said Friday.

Authorities said he walked onto northbound I-15 near Spring Mountain Road about 4:20 a.m. Wednesday when a Toyota Tundra hit him. He was thrown back into traffic then was hit several more times by an unknown number of vehicles, according to Nevada Highway Patrol.

Rudaz was pronounced dead at the scene, NHP said.

The driver of the truck was uninjured. The freeway was closed between Spring Mountain and Sahara Avenue for about four hours Wednesday morning.
