Man dies after being hit by car while crossing the street

One person is in critical condition after a crash west of the Strip early Friday morning.

A car first crashed into a wall and then into a light pole near West Russell Road and Frank Sinatra Drive, Metropolitan Police Department Lt. Carlos Hank said.

Hank said it was a single-vehicle crash and police were investigating if the driver was impaired. The unidentified driver was taken to the hospital after the 2:30 a.m. crash.
