Police seek woman in knifepoint robbery of ‘elderly’ person

Las Vegas police are looking for a woman they said kidnapped an "elderly" person at knifepoint and forced the person to withdraw money from an ATM before stealing it from them.

About 1:20 p.m. Nov. 17, a woman kidnapped an older person at knifepoint from a convenience store parking lot in the 4800 block of West Charleston Boulevard, near the intersection of Decatur Boulevard. The woman forced the person into his/her own car and took the driver's seat, according to a police release issued Monday afternoon.

Metro did not provide the older person's age or gender.

The woman drove the person to a bank about 3 miles away in the 6900 block of Westcliff Drive and forced the person to withdraw money from an ATM. The woman then drove the car to back of the bank and fled on foot.

Police described the woman as 5-feet-5-inches tall with a small build. She has a small mole on her lower chin area and was last seen wearing a hooded sweatshirt with yellow lettering, sunglasses and a knit cap.

Anyone with information should call Metro at 702-828-3347 or, to remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at crimestoppersofnv.com or visit crimestoppersofnv.com. Tips leading to an arrest through Crime Stoppers may result in a cash reward.
