Santa Run moving back to downtown Las Vegas

Christmas got an early start on Fremont Street on Thursday.
With ornate Christmas trees and Santa arriving in a Lamborghini, Opportunity Village announced the return of the annual Las Vegas Great Santa Run to downtown Dec. 7 after a four-year stint at Town Square.
The move was the result of a push by Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn Goodman and desire by Opportunity Village executives to expand participation and increase fundraising for the nonprofit organization, which serves people with intellectual disabilities.
“Downtown is the heart and soul of the whole valley, and having them back here felt natural and right,” said Jeff Victor, president of the Fremont Street Experience.
Registration, $40 for adults and $25 for children, for the Dec. 7 event is available at www.lasvegassantarun.org.
