Scooter rider critical after Friday night crash

A man remained hospitalized in critical condition on Saturday after a central valley motor scooter crash late Friday night.

Dino Ciciotte, 41, of Las Vegas, was traveling east on Flamingo Road near the intersection of Cameron Street, just east of Decatur Boulevard, on a 2014 Tao Tao motor scooter at about 10:25 p.m. on Friday, according to a Metro release.

Las Vegas man Angel Ogaz-Encinas, 43, was turning left from westbound Flamingo Road onto Cameron Street in a 2009 Honda Accord. The Accord impacted the scooter, throwing Ciciotte.

Ciciotte was not wearing a helmet, and sustained critical trauma injuries to the head and multiple broken bones, Metro spokesman Lt. Erik Lloyd said.

Ciciotte was transported to University Medical Center.
