South valley fire prompts building evacuation

At least 10 of 16 units in an apartment complex were affected by a blaze in the south valley Friday, according to the Clark County Fire Department.

The fire was out by about 3:30 p.m. and no injuries were reported, the fire department said. The two-story, multi-family building was evacuated.

Crews were called about 2 p.m. to the two-alarm fire at 9457 Las Vegas Blvd. South, near Interstate 15 and Pebble Road, the department said.

The Southern Nevada Chapter of the American Red Cross, Southwest Gas and NV Energy also responded.
