Teen injured in auto-pedestrian crash near Oakey and Arville

A teenage pedestrian was injured after being struck by a vehicle in the central valley Monday morning, Las Vegas police said.

The teen was taken to University Medical Center with serious injuries not deemed to be life-threatening, Metro officer Laura Meltzer said. Information on the age and gender of the teen was not immediately known.

First responders were called about 7:15 a.m. to Del Monte Avenue and Hinson Street, near the Oakey Boulevard and Arville Street intersection.

Metro Lt. W. Hutchings said Monday morning that it was possible the driver was impaired. Meltzer said the driver was arrested, but it wasn't clear under what charges.
