Three people were indicted in the September killing of a man at Lake Mohave, prosecutors said Wednesday.
Joselin Martinez-Aguilar, 20, Esdras Lanza-Martinez, 18, and Bryan Melendez, 19, each confessed to their roles in the slaying of Domingo Alva-Gonzalez, whose body was found floating in the Colorado River near Searchlight, prosecutors said.
The trio face charges of murder with a deadly weapon, first-degree kidnapping, robbery, burglary and conspiracy. They were being held without bail.
Lanza-Martinez also faces charges of possessing a stolen vehicle and possessing personal identifying information.
Prosecutor John Giordani said the defendants admitted they planned the killing a week in advance.
Martinez-Aguilar told police she and Alva-Gonzalez had dated but broke up shortly before the slaying, and he wouldn’t leave her alone.
The trio lured Alva-Gonzalez to Lake Mohave on Sept. 30, telling him they wanted to party, authorities said.
While at the lake, Alva-Gonzalez was bashed in the back of the head with a rock, Giordani said. Martinez-Aguilar told police she watched Lanza-Martinez drag Alva-Gonzalez into the water and call Melendez to help when he started to fight back. She told police she stood on the shore and watched the two hold her ex-boyfriend under the water.
Officers later found Alva-Gonzalez’s stolen truck at Lanza-Martinez’s at a home near Nellis Boulevard and Tropicana Avenue.
