Two hospitalized in Vegas head-on crash

Two people were hospitalized after a crash that closed the intersection of Vegas and Rancho drives Saturday night, according to Las Vegas police.

About 7:40 p.m., officers were called to the area where two vehicles were involved in a head-on collision.

Two people, one from each vehicle, were taken to University Medical Center in serious condition, Metro spokesman Lt. Ken Romane said. One person was initially critical, but was later downgraded to serious, Romane said. Their injuries are not life-threatening.

Romane suspected the intersection to open in about an hour.
