Woman arrested in fatal shooting
A man is dead and a woman is in custody after an early Wednesday night shooting near Maryland Parkway and Charleston Boulevard, Las Vegas police said.
Officers responded to the 1200 block of Franklin Avenue, near the Maryland Parkway and Charleston Boulevard intersection, shortly after 6 p.m., Metro Lt. Barbara Schmidt said.
The woman was homeless and the man had allowed her to stay in his backyard, Schmidt said.
At some point, the woman went into the residence and shot the man at least once in the chest, Schmidt said.
The man died at University Medical Center, Schmidt said. The woman was arrested.
